~ Katie's Fabulous Recipe ~

Our Cooking Class was today & we just want to say...thank you so much, Katie. She taught us how to make Stuffed Pork Chops over Homemade Applesauce. It looks delicious! We really appreciate the time you put into it & your willingness to teach at two separate times. You are amazing! Here's the recipe:

Stuffed Pork Chops
6-8 boneless pork tenderloin steaks (pork chops)
1 package Stove Top Dressing (any flavor)
1 1/2 cups flour
pepper to taste
butter or margarine

1. Make the dressing according to box & let cool. Set aside.
2. Create a pocket for the stuffing by inserting a small knife into the wall or width of the chop & extend it to the opposite wall & around the circumference without cutting through to the other side. You want to keep the opening small, like 1-2 inches wide, so the stuffing doesn't flow out of it while cooking.
3. Stuff the pork chop with the dressing using your hands. This gets a little messy but, just stuff it in there. Usually 1/4 cup of dressing fits into 1 chop.

Preheat the oven to 350*. Mix the flour, garlic salt & pepper in a shallow bowl.

Use a large frying pan to melt a few tablespoons of butter on medium heat (do not burn the butter). Dip each chop into the flour mixture & brown both sides. You may brown the walls of the steak also. Place the steaks on a greased cookie sheet or 9x13 pan and bake for 25 minutes.

Homemade Applesauce
10 cooking apples (granny smith) peeled, cored & sliced in slices
1 1/2 cups water
4 Tbsp. sugar
cinnamon to taste
nutmeg to taste (optional)

Heat apples & water to boiling in a large pot, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to low & simmer for 10-15 minutes. Stir to break up the apples. Stir in remaining ingredients. Heat to boiling again until the apples are broken up & soft. Simmer until ready to eat.

**Serve the warm applesauce under the pork chops. I like to serve it with steamed carrots & dinner rolls. Enjoy!
